STEPHEN BURGESS / BIO
I AM NOT A ROBOT
Stephen Burgess, a UK based artist, shares his time between his full time career, martial arts studies, avid movie watching and his loving family. His traditional portraits and digital prints have sold worldwide and he has completed commissions ranging from long lost family pets to a guy dressed in his favourite Doctor Who costume (cosplay wasn’t the thing it is now).
After graduating in my Animation degree, my work life took a few stray roads, until I settled in a new town and took a job in forensics. That job became my career and I met my future wife in the office. We now have a rapidly growing pre-teen, a cat and an axolotl. I also found a local martial arts school and I train in Karate, traditional Jujitsu and Japanese weapons. It’s a busy life, so I turn to art to relax and to, hopefully, entertain.
I work in both traditional and digital media, favouring acrylics for my paintings. I use the computer to draw and paint – it’s an amazing tool! I don’t use A.I.to create my work – it is my hand drawing and painting every stroke. Hence the slogan…
I AM NOT A ROBOT.
